Flashing a ROM is not that hard if you follow the instructions provided below. Just keep in mind that if you end up doing something incorrectly while flashing the ROM, then you can risk making your phone inoperable. This is known as bricking and is very rare. But it doesn’t hurt to be careful, does it?
TWRP recovery will enable you to flash unsigned .zip files. These .zip files can range from a custom kernel, boot, recovery, MODs, or full custom ROMs.
What is a TWRP Recovery
TWRP or ( TeamWin Recovery Project ) is a fully touch-based custom recovery that was initially developed for Nexus devices, but has since been made available for countless other smartphones and tablets as well, in form of both official and third-party builds.

How to Install Custom ROM with TWRP Recovery
Step 1: Download and transfer the Custom ROM to your’s device storage.
Step 2: Boot your device into TWRP Recovery with ⇒ ( Power off your phone now hold simultaneously the ‘Power’ button and the ‘Volume down’ button for a few seconds (if this does not work out, try with “Power and Volume Up” – Some phones may work with this combination ).
Step 3: Tap on Wipe option from the TWRP main menu and enable a Swipe to Factory Reset on the bottom of the screen.
Step 4: Back to the TWRP homescreen, tap on the Install option and select the Custom ROM.zip file that you transferred to your device earlier.
Step 5: After your selecting the .zip file, enable Swipe to Confirm Flash on the bottom of the screen to begin the custom ROM installation process.
Step 6: Once your custom ROM is successfully flashed, you’ll notice the Wipe cache/Dalvik option, select it and then enable Swipe to wipe from the bottom of the screen.
Step 7: One the above action completes, hit the Back button on-screen and then select Reboot System.
